Lets compare a guy who has a career and is making between $70-100k, to a guy who is rich. Maybe a business owner with millions or an executive making $300k + a year. How many more women or more attractive women is the rich guy really going to get? How much does it really matter to most women?
I was really surprised when I watched this show called the millionaire matchmaker. Basically it is guys who are having dating problems, but are millionaires who get set up with women. It seemed like none of the women cared that much after the date if the guy was rich. IF the guy was awkward or didn't click they didn't want to see him again.

Eh...I figure he'll be mostly unavailable from spending so much time with his business/job if he owns his own biz or is an exec. $100k is pretty good money so that would be fine.
Being financially successful is part of a man's character/personality - I find it plays a significant role for a lot of women when choosing a man for a long-term relationship.
If being rich is ALL they have to fall back on then all he would do is attract the wrong sort
Sure having a career and doing well would be attractive to most but if the bloke feels that's enough and makes him entitled he probably will get a nasty shock
Most of the guys I know with good women and good marriages don't make a lot of money so there ya have it...what does that that tell you? and in some cases the wife is making more than the husband which is something like 30 percent of households now if not more if you look at the under 45 age bracket.

Same here my mates they've mostly got decent paying jobs but nothing extravagant and have no issues on that front
You've edited your post now to add the stuff about Millionaire Matchmaker, which is kind of different.
A guy who has the problems those guys have would have problems regardless. But being a millionaire gives you access to "solutions" ordinary guys wouldn't have.
As for otherwise able millionaires, unless they are semi-retired or an off-site owner, they still will have the usual work and time constraints on meeting women.
My husband has always brought in a big paycheck but he also is gone 12-14 hours a day ... every day. So .. woo HOO.

Maybe it would be beneficial for you to take a look at the reasons why you thought it surprising that these women didn't go after the money, to the exclusion of attraction and compatibility?

All that tells me that there aren't that many rich men available and they might have just chosen the most successful guys that had access to.
