This is 2008 - not 1708. That whole "damsel in distress" thing is history.
It's probably a psychological factor - women feel more "protected" by a bigger guy. It's in the XX chromosomes, apparently.

I still don't get it - protected from what? Maybe one of the women who feel "protected" by a taller guy can explain how they are protected and what exactly they are being protected from.

I have the XX chromosomes too, and I have never needed a man to "protect" me - I've fought all my own fights (lost a few, won most).

It's just human instinct for many, like what faina00 said.

The bigger they are...the harder they fall people. Trust me on that. Us short guys can take out kneecaps and stuff. You wanna see a big tall guy cry like a girl and flop around on the ground like a fish out of water...take out a kneecap.
I've never been much of a womanizer...and could really care less how women feel about height. I have many friends that are women and have never caught any flak due to my height. I probably wouldn't have anything to do with a woman that did have an issue with height. There are better things to concern myself with. 9 times out of 10 those women have no idea what they are passing up anyway.

It's not human instinct are you a scientist? No.

Again girls are just being stupid when they reject a male for his height and again for admitting they just want to give up their security so a taller male can beat them and treat them like garbage.

You said you haven't been much of a womanizer. So that you means you did do a little womanizing!

Yeah, I'm with you on the short guys taking out kneecaps and "stuff". LOL.

If a guy is smaller than you, then it makes you feel like some big amazon woman and you don't feel as attractive. You want someone who makes you feel petite & feminine. This is a generalization....I have seen enough couples to know that some don't care about that at all.

Personally, what is most important is how a guy views his own height. I've met short guys who were so insecure about it that it was a turn-off...especially when they want their girlfriend to never wear heels. I've also met very tall men who seemed awkward in their height & that's not attractive either.

My personal preference is that a guy is as tall as me in flat shoes, so 5'7 & up is good. He has to be cool with me wearing heels sometimes too. If his height doesn't bother him, then it doesn't bother me.
