Depends. At times it just makes me crack up. Especially if the people are over acting. The fake orgasms really kill me. I would prefer having sex then watching other people have sex.
Does not affect me at all since I do not watch it or read it. If one does not expose themselves to things they have no desire to see one is not afected by it.
There are several statistics available online. Something like 84% of the consumers of erotic/romance novels are women. Meanwhile, 1 in 3 consumers of online pornography are women. Women are more active in sexual chat rooms. ... etc etc...
The whole visual vs mental differences in gender is interesting...
The best pornography (IMO) are coming from female directors... one comes to mind is a husband and wife duo.
My wife has always said that she has no interest in porn -- that it doesn't do anything for her.
Just the other day, a male friend of mine sent me a graphic that included a dirty joke and what appeared to be a scene taken from a porn flick in the background.
I then showed it to my wife. Since she didn't make a big deal about the nudity, I decided to send her another pic of a porn scene. And then more soon followed.
Long story short: It turns out that she does seem to like porn -- to a degree. She says the pics turn her on (she doesn't want video clips or movies) if the people in the pics look like they're enjoying themselves.
In other words, she looks for facial expressions and other cues that signal they are really turned on (heavy kissing, moaning, etc.). If it looks too fake/scripted, she doesn't like it. She does admit that she wouldn't mind my sending her a pic here and there in advance of a romp in the bedroom.
This has made me curious as to whether porn has this effect on most women. Do you get aroused by it if the actors look like they're really into it?
If not porn, do you ladies get turned on by steamy scenes in movies, where, say, two actors passionately kiss one another -- even if no clothes comes off?
For me it never really works if I see the porn stars face, I just prefer to see a guys package. 😂
Very rarely will a porn actor "turn me on", the types that I think are attractive aren't really in pornos. Now if they have a video of 2 bearded masculine Mediterranean men making out that might turn me on. 😂😂🙈
The great majority of the porn that I have seen, is actually rather a turn-off. Porn <> eroticism.
I would agree with the following:
"To me porn is usually visual and geared towards men. Its sole purpose is to physically arouse and stimulate. I have nothing against porn, it serves its purpose, but erotica goes much deeper. Erotica appeals more to women and is often written by and for women even though there are both male and female writers and readers.
To me erotica can be much more real, while porn is often very unrealistic. Erotica can also tell a more complete story. If you read a regular novel about a married couple or a couple in love, it does not tell the whole story of their relationship because the sex scenes are often omitted or glossed over. In erotica you can get the whole story including the steamy sex scenes. Erotica stimulates the mind and the body, arousing emotions and the imagination."
