I've read figures between 12-15 billion in the US alone. The US is one of the largest providers/producers of pornography consumed by people all over the world. Its not ads but subscriptions.. mostly to networks that provide single access to "portals" that offer a variety of genres.

Not all of porn is over the top acting... Mostly low budget gonzo that is streamed in short clips on free sites. There is a genre of amateur couples performing which are usually way more erotic.
