My husband is better educated. He had a BA when we married and I only had a HS Diploma. During our marriage I took classes at night and eventually got my AA Degree. Then he took advantage of tuition reimbursement from his employer and got his MBA. He is very smart and does well in the business environment. I am more clever and handle life issues better. I am also much better at handling money on a personal level, something he never did learn to do despite his MBA.

I go back on forth on this...when I first married my husband, I thought he was smarter. Now, I think I'm smarter. I KNOW and have always known I'm street smarter, but my husband is more emotionally intelligent. I think I might be a bit more book smart than he is too...

We are both up there with common sense. I have more formal education. My guy is way more creative than me, which usually makes him better at figuring out solutions to problems. He is also way more of a smart a$$ and make instant comebacks that would take me a good 10 minutes to think of.

The one who seeks a spouse based on intellect has no intellect to start with

Much like the poor people who seek rich men and women.

Or the not so good looking who aspire for the stunning.

It's how the world works.

I've always dated men who are smarter than me in some areas and in other areas, I'm smarter than them. I think we've always been pretty equal.

My husband is smarter than me - I'd like to attempt to join Mensa but I have to try first - because he is a shoe-in and I'm not so sure about me :P

I'm also better looking than him and I also think that it was a smart move for me to marry someone smarter.
