If I was as miserable as most of you seem...I'd just shoot myself in the head. It's no wonder many of you are not married.

marriage could work but it doesn't that is bek guys need to see the lawyer b4 not after the marriage. marriage is a legal event masquerading as a romantic event.

Everyone I know who got married has already gotten divorced or is about to. The bf and I are in a committed relationship for four years already. Yes we discuss getting married but we still haven't. I don't need a piece of paper to say we're together.

I think it is overrated. Most people I know who are much older than I and have been married for a long time only seem to stay together because they have been together too long (10-30 yrs) to breakup. They are no longer able to find happiness in their marriage and make it work for some reason but feel pressure from family and friends to stay together..to each his own...a relationship should just be about what the two parties in it want, not what family and friends tell them they should want. I think that is one reason the divorce rate is so high...because people who didnt want to be married or realized marriage wasnt for them, got married anyway...I think its funny but sad, how alot of people run around saying "well, marriage isnt for everybody" but when someone says they dont want to get married they try to talk them into why they should get married, and beat them down or label them as a bad person for not wanting to get married.

I'm sorry but marriage is work..it's sad but it's true..
