Unsurprisingly, my highest/best matches were also on Fet. I did receive genuine messages of interest in dialog and GTKY on Fet, but it was usually bad timing.
Yeah, I did, too, now and then. I just discourage people from approaching that site as a "dating site" per se, if only because the architecture of the site itself doesn't make that easy. Like search parameters and so on. And for anyone who has a habit of looking at the pics and ignoring the text, they're gonna have a bad time there. It's definitely no "swipe left, swipe right" sort of a place.
I found when I was dating that there was a lot of overlap between OKC and fet at least in this area.
It would maybe be more accurate to say that I met my SO through the kink community here, though, since I use fet as the online face of that. If he'd been affiliated with the wrong House, or been one of the more private players who refused to join the social side of it, I probably would not have agreed to date him. I was keen to avoid what I'd dubbed "the sketchy basement people." But he was already a member of my Club and just reached out to connect online and ask if I would mind meeting at one of the bar events. We didn't really become an item for about 2 months after that, during which we saw one another mostly at parties and so on.
