We're in our mid-60's and still hold hands. I can't say that I've ever paid much attention to what others do, but a meme was shared with me and caused me to wonder: Is holding hands still relevant today, or is it just a carryover for us from a different time? If it's been replaced - with what? Perhaps our cellphones?
My husband and I do and we're celebrating 29 years of marriage next month. There's a "certain way" we have to hold hands, too. It feels weird if we do it any other way.
Interesting...I had a FWB and we were killing time walking around outside and he grabbed my hand - I'm thinking like "Wth?! - you don't hold hands with a FWB!". So at that point I started re-thinking the whole thing and it was kind of the turning point in the relationship. We're still together more than 10 years later...
Even after over 50 years of marriage, one "supposed friend" was "vulturing" around(when my husband was very ill) ...thinking he could just step into my husband's place because we still held hands and I even still sat on his lap because it was so encouraging that even at our ages you might want to do those kinds of things
Yup... sometimes he holds my hands over my head or behind my back... I like it.
