Holy ****....I just had someone say this to me online when discussing relationships. That statement is crazy as ****. What do you guys think of this statement? It sounds kinda sexist to me.
It is a thought process coming from the growing MGTOW movement. It is also in response to sexist remarks from feminists when they say, "A woman needs a man like a fish needs a bicycle." The societal message from women for years now has been that women don't need a man. Men have slowly been taking that to heart and saying ok, well we don't need you either.

Men and women don't need each other. This should be readily obvious to anyone.
No one needs anything.
Unless you want something. Then the needs come flooding in.
Depending on what you want, you may need someone of the opposite sex.
I'll qualify the above statement by saying there are no benefits FOR ME. I see no reason to make my life unnecessarily complicated by inviting someone else into it, so I stay single.
Plenty of other people see advantages galore in the shared life and good luck to them. I enjoy having the freedom to be the selfish, repellent slob I really am, and I powerfully resent the assumption that I'm missing out on something by choosing not to couple. If I wanted it, I'd try harder.

I sure as hell need a woman in my life. In particular, I need my woman in my life. She on the other hand thought she didn't need a man. Then she met me. Now she doesn't need a man - she needs me! And we are both very happy about it.
And yes, it has to be the opposite sex. Something about it that we both want and need.

It is not sexist per se. It is immature and represents a really limited life view. I would stay WELL clear of that attitude.

Hence the 93 year marriage rate low.
Yes it's wimmenz fault when men say dumb things!
