I'm redecorating and want to make the bedroom look inviting. Beyond tidiness, what have you found a turn on or turn off (not just sexual) in women's bedrooms? Color, style, artwork, accessories, etc.

I realize every man is different but if there is agreement on a few things I should pay attention. Example: a platonic male friend said if he walked into a bedroom and it looked like a bordello he'd be turned off.

Maybe I have low standards, but as long as it is clean who cares.

No squeaky bed, less clutter, minimal pictures escpecially of your family, and a nice cuddle blanket.

Why do you even care about anyone's opinion especially men's? If I decorate MY bed in MY own house, I would decorate it however I please. End of.

I know from experience that if my room/home isn't decorated like a college frat boy's man cave but rather neutral, welcoming, and tasteful, females who visit tend to be fairly impressed. I would surmise the opposite is true as well.

At least, I personally would be impressed.

The title of the thread is either mistitled, or I am confused as well. I THINK what he is asking is how to decorate a Men's bedroom so women feel more comfortable with the surroundings. You know, make sure all your axe's are hidden, cover the pentagram, relocate your entire "Saw" movie collection, put the Nazi uniforms in the BACK of the closet........, or explain you're a WWII reenactor......

Just normal, practical stuff.

No the OP is a woman. She doesn't want men who make it into her bedroom to run out screaming.

Clean and dust free. Fresh sheets and fluffy pillows.

No underwear on the floor, no damp towels on the bed. No dolls, no unicorn posters, or excessively feminine ruffles. Preferably no religious symbols. No sports memorabilia, unless it’s a personal achievement.

Yes to good art, textiles, pleasant lighting, tasteful furniture. Ideally, bedside tables and lamps on both sides. An ensuite bathroom is ideal.
