The men interested in me would just come up and start talking. If they showed interest in me as a person, we'd get somewhere. If we'd had a couple drinks, so much the better. But not necessary. Happened on the beach and at a couple music venues. The latter is good because it's not "just" a bar scene, but more of a music scene....
All I ever hear from women I'm friends with is how much they dislike being approached by strangers while they're out so I don't bother to approach much unless they're a friend of a friend. I feel more comfortable meeting women through friends over cold approaching a woman I don't know.

It depends who's doing the approaching..never heard a women complain that a good looking dude approached her..

It's safer and understandable.
I never cold approach. It's never been my style. What normally happens is that I meet a woman, just on a friendly basis, converse over text, hang out, and let the pieces fall where they may. Sometimes, I end up in the friendzone, sometimes, they like me and I don't like them back. Sometimes, there's mutual chemistry. But i never approach women like i want to have sex with them or just to hook up or just to date them due to superficial reasons.
I always found men who were interested in my turned fully to face me, eyes on mine, smiled a lot, and asked me a lot of questions.
