Politicians themselves don't really have convictions either, they may have a leaning of one party or another, they do whatever they can when they get in office. They all say "one" thing during campaigns and do another in office (for a variety of reasons). They just pander for votes. I've seen them change parties, do the opposite of their promises.....

The same thing applies to politics as making sausages...

I don't care about politics but if she likes pineapple on her pizza, it's not going to work out for us.

It seems like politics now is extremely polarizing, it always was to a certain degree but it seemed like in the past people would "agree to disagree" now it's like people are just so far apart and you hear stories about family members not speaking anymore, people getting divorced and friendships being cut. Some of my FB friends recently was telling some horror stories about the in-house fighting people are doing and how family members are cutting each other out of their lives.

It's sad and not really necessary in the long run. People are clinging to "their" side or POV way too much in my opinion.

I voted for Donald Trump, but I consider myself a fairly open minded and well-informed person. I wouldn't have a problem dating someone who votes left-of-center, as long as they are intelligent and not an extremist.

I'm not going to get involved with any of the extremists that hate men, etc.

These days, politics has gone to the point of whether certain classes or races have a right to being treated like humans or not. As a member of one of the affected classes, gray is NOT an option. Either you believe that every class that isn’t a straight white male should not be oppressed or you passively believe that you do in your voting pattern. If you subscribe to the latter I’m not with you, it’s just that simple.

This is a truly an oversimplification but I understand what you mean. If someone is too far in one direction it colors and biases their view across a variety of subjects and can cause people to not be able to have some kind of meeting point.

Classes, races, or gender. You forgot to mention gender. Now I can cross you off my list and take it personally too.

Or not.

I figured you had long done that since I’ve made it clear here that I’m not going to kiss up to ANYONE, including women for ANYTHING.

No, I kinda like you, and actually assumed it wasnt intentional due to your being too wrapped up in your own persecutory delusions to be aware.
