2.) I just can't drive 2 hours through Los Angeles rush hour traffic to date a woman. The stress of driving in traffic freaks me out. Driving 2 hours in beautiful, low traffic countryside I find relaxing, particularly if there's horseback riding and a nice lady at the end of my drive. She should be moved in by the next day or two.

Lovehound, I think you're using the word "orbiter" incorrectly.
I have been told that 'orbiter' means a person who is in frequent contact with the 'subject' by phone, text, email, and possibly OLD messages, but they never meet in person.
If this is incorrect then I will appreciate an accurate definition, and I apologize if I have misused the term.

I have told my 'orbiter' to date other men, and that I am dating other women. She says she is disinterested in the OLD scene now, but I've continued to encourage her to participate. That's only smart for people who are not in stable exclusive arrangements. Part of her disinterest may be related to moving her household to an entirely different area. She may be preoccupied with moving affairs.
I suspect there are people using this term with no ill intent, but it really isn't a very nice thing to say about someone. It's a bit like calling them a hanger-on or a groupie, although the first definition refers primarily to men. Then again, I suppose men can be groupies, too.
