I'm confused. Is the larger basket always on the right and you want her to switch it to the left?

Or do the large and medium baskets randomly switch between being on the right and left? In which case, why don't you just take the 1/4 second to put the baskets where you would prefer?

But ultimately, if she's doing your laundry, then follow her rules.

Maybe? You mean Yes.

Either that or she has an ONGOING issue with you being lazy and thinking you take advantage of her and this is her way of trying to make you be less lazy. Because I just can’t understand why she wouldn’t just put it on the left side and make it as simple as possible. I bet she would if it were her child or you had Alzheimer’s.

Agree, like what's so hard. Sounds like regular load on right in larger basket. Makes more sense to have it on the right if up against a wall

Why does that make more sense? I’m confused.

Years ago, I structured my wardrobe so everything I own can go in one load set to "normal" and cold water. No whites. No delicates. Big white Egyptian bath sheets washed separately with bleach has been my only laundry complexity for decades other than Gore Tex outer layers. I use the washing machine tub as my dirty clothes hamper. I don't need no stinking hamper.

I live with my girlfriend. Her apartment is small with a stacked apartment-size w/d with a top loader washing machine. My house is also small and has a stacked full size front loader w/d in a closet. I generally do my own laundry but I'll only wash hers if she's there to point at what can mix in my 'normal' load and what can go in the dryer afterwards.

If we did hampers, it would have to be his & hers or I'd destroy clothes. There's too much risk that left side/right side of a shared hamper would have me mixing delicates into my load.

At our house, I sort the clothes because it matters to me. He does the folding because he wants it done neatly.

We have one basket and zero conflict.

Haha, I agree with your method, but just learn to use her method. She's your wife and this is something trivial to quarrel over.

Man-to-man let me mansplain it to you. It's absurd for you to not understand that when she is doing you a favor, she is the person making the offer to do your laundry, so she is the one who gets to set the terms. If you can't change her mind (it appears that didn't work) then your only choices are to either do it her way, or do your own damned laundry!

You're acting like she's your mother, and you're throwing a childish tantrum.

Please grow up and if you need a hint, put signs over whichever baskets what goes in each.

Mod cut.

It is kind of silly to quarrel over this. Just give in.
