Its no big deal, IMHO.

25 and 18 may raise eyebrows. 18 and 21 - not such a big deal IMHO

I think at that stage the one thing that separates the two is one is of legal drinking age and one is not. If you like to go to bars or clubs, that would leave the 18 year old out for a few years.

18 and 21 is fine. They may be in different places in life, as the person you quoted mentioned, but that doesn't make it odd or weird.

Is 18 in college or at least graduated from high school and working? I’d say dating a college freshman is no big deal, particularly if they’re not living at home. If 18 is still a senior in high school, that’s a large gap.
