You find a name that you both can agree on.

And when you are considering names, think of a name that your child will be proud to have and can carry into her adult and professional lives. Nothing cutesy. Give your girl a strong name. Sparkle and Glitter are not it.

What are his suggestions?

I believe, since you aren’t married, legally, you get to decide your baby’s name. I urge you to rethink those dopey names you’re thinking of using.

I would have a hard time believing this is actually a serious post, but, I have met many people with zero common sense

When I was a silly child I considered keeping in mind the name Semma Terry for a girl.
Thankfully, I grew up

How about a name like:

Ann
Mary
Jane
Esther
Ruth
Carol
Frances
Ellen
Elizabeth
Joan
Carla
Stephanie

etc?

In other words, a name that a little girl, who later becomes a woman, will not cringe every time she has to say it or write it on a form the rest of her entire life?

Sheesh.

Around here, if you're unmarried (and the father's name is not on the birth certificate), you would have final say as to what your daughter's name would be on her birth certificate.

Please remember as you are going through the mental process of choosing a name that you're naming a human child who will have to live with this name--not a My Little Pony. Would you consider naming your daughter Mercedes Rose as a compromise?

The actual names aside....

Parenting requires both parents to work together to resolve disagreements and making compromises.

Consider this practice
