Actually it doesn't sound like too bad an idea. Sheltered from the weather, plenty of triggers to provide conversation, share opinions. Just a browse through Spenser's could do that and several places to stop for a drink or something to eat.
Farmer's Market? And what, discuss tomatoes?

Have not been to a mall in years. But I will admit when I was in high school that the mall was a hot spot to bring a date along. We had it all. Arcades, movie theatres, food courts. This was before having a drivers license of course.
