There might be something true with OP statement - I often see doctors being married to other medical professionals, lawyers to lawyers, teachers to teachers, actors to actors etc. I guess, when one has a job that consume so much of their time and energy, then the easiest way is just to marry another available person of the same profession. They know each other professionally, they learn to trust each other, they have common interests to discuss, run in the same circles, sometimes even work together. It makes sense to many.
Bingo.

This is EXACTLY what she was getting at.

I'm not an engineer, but I work in semiconductor manufacturing and would prefer someone who is like minded. I wouldn't want to talk shop, that would put me right to sleep. I find most engineers have the same twisted sense of humor that I do.

In my profession, architects tend to marry other architects. Personally I don't care to date in the profession, at least not exclusively.

A whole lot of nope...she says she dates men in medical sales. Basically, salesmen...but just in that profession. But it's amusing how some seem to get a satisfaction in trying to think they got me nailed down. lol.
