If a man goes out and oftentimes women don’t want to talk to him and if he also has very little success with online dating, does that mean he is ugly? If so, what is an unattractive man supposed to do to find social happiness, even if he’s short?

There aren't ugly men - just insecure about their bodies and themselves
Self-acceptance breeds confidence because you know who you are and you’re going to make the most of it.
Well, except when you have really ugly personality - but that could be worked on and changed.

BTW: There are some bright sides to being "ugly": people like you for who you are, not for how you look.

FYI: a research study has found that “beautiful people” are just as unhappy as the rest of the population.

Thank you for the sincere response and for the link.

Dating is frustrating for many men. It seems that it shouldn’t be that hard to attract women and the whole “just be yourself” thing doesn’t seem to always work.

It could be that shyness, insecurity or lack of assertiveness is more of a turnoff to women.

Plenty of unattractive men are married or in relationships.

For me, I didn't care much about physical features, but a high-pitched voice in a man was a huge turnoff. Studies have shown that women are more attracted to men with deeper voices. (This doesn't mean ALL women are ONLY attracted to men with deep voices).
