Ever decide to Google a dating prospect only to find their mugshot online? I have, a someone in possession of controlled substances. Some were DUI instances. Violation of probation.

Would this be a deal breaker for you?

Having once been married to a person with substance abuse issues, I make it a point to not become romantically involved with anyone who I even suspect has either a past or present issue with drugs or alcohol, let alone who has had run-ins with the law due to their substance abuse.

I also would be very hesitant to become involved with someone who had a past history of doing time in the big house due to theft, fraud, etc.

To me, there's little sense in knowingly bringing someone else's potential drama into my otherwise peaceful life.

Yes, I have googled and found criminal information, other than minor traffic violations, before we actually met. I ended the conversation and never met the man. If he disrespects the law, he will surely disrespect me in a way that I care not to tolerate.
