The saying, " Too old to soon, Too smart to late", for me is truth.....and with this the joke of the old bull and the young bull standing atop a hill looking down into the valley where several heffers grazed, the younger bull, bumping the old bull saying, "hey Pop, lets run down there and get us one of those 'ladies'".
The older bull looking back at the 'youngster' than back into the valley below, smiled, and said," Lets walk down and get 'em all!"
For me, youth taught me nothing because I already knew it all. Some of us grow without change because we will not admit we were wrong or take the oppertunities to learn the truth and make positive changes in our lives, again admitting we were wrong.
The wonderful pleasures and good, happy, carefree times of youth were real but compared to the pleasures knowledge, combined with honesty and common-sence bring into lives, is beyond measure.
As a 'youngster and into my 20's/30's I doubt if ever I enjoyed a sunrise or sunset, the first flower of early spring.......giving reason for someone who, needs a reason, a 'smile'.
Doing things, anything back than usualy done with expecting 'something' in return.
Definately, for me at least, wisdom and the truth that comes with it cannot compare with the 'wham-bam-thank-you-mamm' pleasures of 'youth'. ..........lovinchi
Wow- I really wouldn't want any of these, and number 2's going to happen anyway in real life!
