I always thought the whole practice was stupid. But it sounds like the guy took this to the extreme. The woman told him clearly no to do it and he did anyway. Totally reasonable to question what other things he is willing to disregard. I’d have buyers remorse in her shoes and think annulment would be something to look into.

Married in the 70's, the photographer set up the cake sharing. I was an innocent groom and was completely surprised by the cake push. i still don't know the who/what/when of this practice and I was butt hurt for a minute or two. Some things like pool pushing are just part of the play. She's at a wedding. Cake push seems to be a thing. She would have been smarter to not have a cake. Another "useless" ritual.

Cake push? No, it's not an innocent thing. Nice victim-blaming, though.

I've never heard of "cake push" or "pool push" as a thing. Anyway, if the bride wanted to make sure there was no such thing, she made her preference known, and was assaulted anyway. It's not a small or silly thing.

I am guessing it was a pattern of behavior.
Maybe she was hoping on their wedding day he would respect her wishes.

It must have felt like a huge slap in the face to her.

It takes abuse victims on average 7 tries before they finally leave. I am glad she is leaving and hope she has support from her family and friends for her decision.

Never heard of such a thing... guess I'm too 'boring' and 'vanilla' for that one too.

The sadist part of this is ruining a good cake !

Anybody that's that juvenile is too immature to get married anyway.
