Say you donated your sperm or eggs to a clinic for someone to have a child. Would you reveal that information to your partner? If you did donate in the past do you tell your gfs/bfs? In my country when the child becomes 18 they have the right to be given information about their donor parent. But even in countries where donors are anonymous forever lately there's this trend of so called co-parenting and people donating material to couples without going to a clinic etc.
I don't feel it should ever be a secret. Someday someone will get a DNA test. Let them know the truth up front so their imaginations don't run wild in the future.
