I have been chatting with someone who DM’d on Instagram. I eventually asked for his number because I don’t like using social media apps to communicate. We texted but ended up going back to mainly communicating through Instagram messaging. Is that a red flag? I know most people are mainly talking through social media (sending memes and stuff) but was wondering if it could also be a red flag.
At the very least I would find it odd...tells me this person spends way too much time on social media. In my view the only reason to DM someone on social media--who's actual number you already have--is to send them a meme or article that you came across on that platform. Conversations should not take place over DM if you have each other's phone number.
huh, why is he spending too much time on social media, how do you all know how much time he spends on it? And why is this worse than spending time on dating apps?
I met my current bf on instagram. Now we live together. Not sure why this would be a redflag.
Just because some behavior is peculiar, doesn't mean its a red flag.
He gave you both his phone number and social media. This means he trusts you with his information and isn't hiding anything.
I don't want to trivialize the term "red flag"; people on the internet seem to think everything is a red flag. It should carry it's weight for when it's something significant.
