Old-school, hardcore Taoists didn't because it would take time away from their personal development. Yes, I was married - "it seemed the thing to do at the time"...plus, I have no regrets about it because it was a learning experience for me and I have two wonderful sons from it.

Well, that's certainly not a bad idea, provided one doesn't have a lazy slug at hand (in which case, as you advised me, salt comes in handy ). I thought Taoists perhaps keep some concept of "marriage" going while "changing" wives in the meantime... who knows...
