I think its posible that the comment was about more then hair, I also think its posible that men and the OPs husband are completely clueless about the idiotic things they say. That it can come across alot worse then they ever intended.
I agree with Lindsey here, the hair might have been the comment, but it sounds like there is probably a history and an attitude that led up to the upset bothers the opening post person.
I havent read all of the posts, but Im with cpg and miss martha. Lighten up. I recently started seeing an old friend from high school, initially he kept commenting on how hot I WAS in high school, and how this I WAS and that I WAS. That dosent mean he dosent think Im hot now or he wouldnt be with me. I take it as a compliment.
I just don't think guys minds work the same way ours do. I think sometimes they do say something and its intended to control and push you in a different direction but more often I think they say things and don't mean them the way they can be taken by the listener.

Yes, like when my husband told me "That bathing suit hides a multitude of sins"

As a man, I can relate to that, having said many thousands of clueless, idiotic, and unintended things that I later regretted. Foot, meet mouth.

NICE !!
I'm sure he really meant that "you look really sexy in that bathing suit".
I don't know about you guys but I am a VERY literal person. I take things in a different way then people sometimes mean. I am aware of it but still sometimes things slip by that I later find out I totally misunderstood.

Perhaps he meant that your Goddess-like body was luckily covered from the covetous views of both men and women...
