I, for one, prefer to provide the paycheck. Which is why being unemployed is really annoying.
I do more cooking now that I'm home. I have more time for it. My husband still cooks regularly though. When I was working full time, that was his way of providing for me so I get what you're saying. Now he's the breadwinner and I'm doing most of the cooking.
I would have agreed with your assessment of people not learning to cook if you'd said "It's strange to me when PEOPLE don't learn to cook". I have no clue why it would be strange for a woman to not learn how but not a man. Anyone should be able to cook. It's a basic life skill.
I get what you are saying. I am a very loud, independent, I am woman hear me rawr, type of chic....
However it has just been what I have seen growing up, The women are normally the chefs in the kitchen. I think its not how things SHOULD be or Ought to be, however it is how our culture has been for a very long time.
I hope my girls (I have two daughters) will be able to rock out an awesome meal, and put their college degrees to good use.
(If I ever have a son I will be expecting the same from him, as in I will teach~!)
how is it that many women still don't know how to perform the most important essentials to live...COOK!
Simple. Same reason men dont. It is no longer necessary when you can purchase your meals already prepared. By the way, I love to cook and both my sons are excellent cooks.
The only reason my wife keeps me around is for my cooking skills & great sex. As I get older and the great sex declines I've had to learn to be a better cook.
Last night I took a nap at around 6 got up at 7:30, I have cooked the last 5 days and thought surely she would have dinner ready when I got up. Good thing she looks good...lol Oh well shes doing double duty at work so I cooked again. I'm grocery shopping today so maybe I'll pick up something she'll throw together when she gets home. Who was that cartoon character on tv...Frickem...Frackem...lol they should have adult mumbling classes.

My wife cooks about 80% of the time. When she doesn't it's likely because she's just worn the f- out from taking care of the kids and cleaning all day. Of course we all have a lazy day every now and then too....time to order chinese.
WTF????????? Are you frigin kidding me with this post? Is this not a country of equality?? Why in the hell can't you frigin cook for each other? Whats wrong with that? Grant it..if you are a stay home mom or DAD or you simply stay home for whatever reason..YES..I believe you should cook and YES the home should be clean etc...its a frigin partnership!! or whomever comes home first from work/school should be the one to cook..u know..share the responsibility.
well i was tryin to stay away from this one. but...
all men need to know how to cook. if they dont, then their moms didnt teach THEM any better. Cooking, like cleaning is esential for any developed, mature, independant individual.
I look down on people who cant cook, female or male. well, i dont mean cook females or males. i mean not being able to cook by either sex is looked down up on by me. its not that hard. its trial by error. besides, nowadays its part of life. men can be such babies some times. and women can be just as bad.
but i think the troll dragged us under his bridge.
