I got a couple of friend requests, then never heard from the people again. Could someone explain the whole "befriend" thing to me?
For the most part it means you like certain people and their posts... It doesn't require any more socializing outside of the forum. Then you see who's a friend of your friend and you go ! Some people are into friend-collecting – I haven’t been in a US high school myself, but you should know about this deal…
