Curious if this is as true as it seems.

Not if they are confident and happy in their own skin, then no. A nice guy who is confident and has good social skills will do far better with women than some bad boy loser IMHO.

Let me expand on what you just wrote:

"I'm a nice guy. I just put women on a pedestal. I'm sweet and kind and morally superior to all those other guys. You know the guys I'm talking about. The guys who always know how to show a girl a good time. Those guys who somehow think that just because a girl says high-minded things doesn't mean she wants to do high-minded things. Those guys who play saxophone, own motorcycles, and don't let women get away with a bunch of self-important, self-serving baloney."

Get a grip. First off, take a look at your screen name. Girls just aren't falling all over themselves to date a Trekkie.

i have those qualities, but that is all i have. i find women date nice guys because mom says they should. the most honest open statement i ever heard a woman say on dating mr wrong, i might be attracted to him but that doesn't mean i like him. a lot of it has to do with age. at 50 we want a lot more and are willing to give a lot less.

Meh, I don't really buy this. I have NEVER dated ANYONE based on my parents opinions. I just respect myself enough to have no interest at all in someone who is going to jerk me around. That's how I would classify a 'bad boy'.

My husband is the quintessential nice guy and I like to think he came in first when he married me! He may have another story, but what does that matter??https://pics3.city-data.com/forum/ima...ilies/wink.gif

My boyfriend is a nice guy and he ended up with me! And he still thinks that I am a prize. We both won.

Nice guys do not finish last... it just takes a little longer to get to the finish line.

But it is worth the wait.
