I did karaoke once before, and a small town bar. After the song ended i proceeded to the bar, and I did get some applause from some ladies.
I wasn't in the mood to spit some game, but I could see karaoke as an entry way into conversation, numbers exchanging, and hanging out later!
I'm thinking more in terms of karaoke *after* I've already introduced myself and chatted up a little bit. Just to catch her off guard, maybe make her laugh a little bit, and to jump start myself into letting go of my inhibitions.
And in my fantasies this is a small town bar so that should be noted.
If you sing like William Hung there should be no problems in you getting some action from a morbid obese lady in her seventies....

To all the guys out there who only think of one thing on the first date. If you had a teen-age daughter that you loved so much, would you want her to be doing things, she and her boyfriend should not be doing on the first date? I've always felt like the parent of the girl, how would her mother or father feel if I tried something inappropriate with her? If I'm out with a gal for the first date, or even after a while into the relationship, I will treat her in ways that will make me gain the respect of her parents, even if she's a mature woman, and I know the gal I'm seeing right now will tell you the same thing about our first date.
