My brother just proposed 2 months ago to the woman he has been dating for 10 years, on and off!!! He is a late bloomer I guess. I cannot believe she stuck around that long.

I was referring more to the personality of my brother...why would she stick around that long? He is a great guy, we just thought he would never get married or have kids. After spending so much time with my kids, he probably got sterilized

As I said... it all depends. Have you been married before? Do you have children? Do you want to have children? Do you care to get married at all?
In your case it might not matter at all. If somebody suitable happens to cross my path today (let's make it tomorrow as I'm having my scotch with ya ), I'll be perfectly OK to see him once or twice a week for the next 16 years.
