He uses his right hand for cutting things because it's too hard for him to hold the scissors with his left hand. However, he plays sports with his left hand. It also took me forever to teach him how to tie his shoes because I had to do it backwards from the "right-handed" way.

I cut with a knife either hand, but best left hand.

I can use scissors only right handed. When i was little i never saw any left handed scissors.

Thanks guys! I guess we will continue practicing more. I'm convinced left-handed people are more special.

I hear they are very intelligent. School work/state testing does come easy for my son...it's just the lazy teen part I'm dealing with now.

I'm sure you are cracking the whip though Seeniorita. I can see you not taking any crap.

I'm not there yet (thankfully), although I see glimpses of laziness shining through already. If he is anything like his parents, he will be lazy. I never did any homework, I was always riding on my good memory and easy grasps on the subject and my husband well...he just never cared. We both were more into arts than science, and I can see my son is similar that way.

Default Today I wrote a poem

I was listening to a song called Golden Heart by Mark Knopfler and the guitar intro always warms me up. It made me happy and it was a nice distraction from the mundane tasks I have to complete most days (job). So I wrote this on the spot. Got a little sh*t from the cube mates for what they call "chick-like" behavior. Oh well...

Everyone Has a Mother (In Nature)

Swaying to the gentle breeze

Nature’s sweet melody.

As sweet a lullaby you’ll ever hear.

Sing to me birds. Sing to me trees.

Mountains tall and ocean deep

Painting pictures in my mind

Purples and yellows and greens and grays

In harmony

Calming busy minds and

Feeding needy souls that are

Depleted by snarling traffic

And reckless pursuits

Deep in the valleys of darkness.

Come to me children.

Feel my warmth.

My light.

Come. Take. Eat.

Like many mothers I give my all

Asking for nothing in return.

What did I do today that made me happy?

I planted seven rows of sweet corn, two rows of beans, one row of indian corn (the colorful, decorative stuff), several hills of cucumbers and melons and I tilled a lot of weeds under. I also tended my peppers, cabbage, broccoli, zucchini and eggplant.

Now I've got to go try and plant an apple tree and, if I have time later, several grape vines!

Woo-hoo!
