I'm just wondering if I'm unusual in that I don't like to sleep all "cuddled up" with my partner.

Don't get me wrong, I like to cuddle to a certain degree but when I am close to drifting off to sleep or trying to get to sleep I don't want anyone touching me or up against me... I want lots of room to move around and plenty of space around me. Sometimes I will start to feel restricted and a little bit panicky.

I thought well, maybe it's because I'm hot natured and it's summer? But nah, I realized I'm not big on cuddling during sleep in the winter either unless it's FREEZING and therefore necessary to keep warm.

Just curious if others are like this too. My partner is the opposite, very much a "spooner"....so sometimes it's a little bit of an issue.

Obviously the question isn't just for those in a relationship... but for any 2 people in an intimate situation who are sleeping in the same bed.

Nope. We need our space. My wife says I'm too hot.

I'm with you. I like cuddling before going to sleep or in the morning, but sleep is sleep... leave me alone! I've heard of many couples waking each other up when they get some ideas... To me that's grounds for strangling!

Yeah, men are generally warmer. I'm sure she changes her mind in the winter.

Depends on the night. If we start out not cuddling, I know there's an 80% chance if I squirm my way in that I'll wake him and get some luvin!

I think Lucy and Ricky had the perfect bedroom, separate beds. Please let me fall asleep first so I don't have to hear you sawing wood. Also if you're up before me, please don't wake me to tell me about your morning wood. Good night.

I can sleep either way but if I have my pick, cuddling would be the way, at least to fall asleep, after that eventually end up in own space anyway.

My husband & I have separate queen beds shoved together to make a HUGE bed. He tosses & turns & kicks & steals covers. When I am able to sleep I wake at the slightest touch or movement of the covers.

Still enjoy a cuddle now and then, but prefer my space in order to get a half way decent night's rest.

We snuggle before we actually fall asleep, then we both turn away from each other, and are butt to butt.
