I'm writing a story for the Philadelphia Inquirer about young men who've gotten vasectomies. I was looking for young men (or women in a relationship with one) in the Philadelphia area who have gotten vasectomies and was wondering if anyone out there would mind talking with me about it. Any time and help would be greatly appreciated. -Reid

Actually, it seems like it would be better to have it posted in the Philadelphia forum since he's specifically looking for men or women in Philadelphia, or maybe Health and Wellness...

I got one after my kids were born, I would have been about 29 at the time.
It wasn't in Philly but if you want to talk send me a PM.
Bottom line: It isn't a big deal and it doesn't affect anything except the ability to make someone pregnant. Recovery is like 2 days of taking it easy.
Piece of cake. The most uncomfortable part of the entire procedure was when they washed my Rod Of Power off with cold water. I strolled out of there and didn't even think about it. The only think that ticked me off was when my wife confiscated all the really good pain killer drugs the next day, saying, "You don't need that. You just mowed the lawn two hours ago for crying out loud."

Aaaww, poor cpg! Didn't even get to enjoy the happy pills!
It hurt somewhat but not that bad and I had a "difficult procedure" due to how one of the tubes went so my doc mentioned that I was high-end pain scale for that sort of thing. If your wife has gone through a pregnancy and you can't tough out this minor thing then you need to "man up" and do it.
I took minor pain killers for maybe 24 hours afterwards and then was pretty much fine.
No more birth control pills, no more possible oopsies, no more condoms....it is ALL good and the wifey should be REALLY REALLY happy about it too. (wink wink)
What do you define as young? Haven't had one. It makes me cringe.
