I don't see what's wrong with having reasonably high expectations. Maybe women have gotten stronger and less tolerant of situations that don't improve. We're no longer doormats. (that's not the same as being a hairy-legged feminist)
I'm sure it hurts to end a marriage, even for the woman who instigates it; but it's probably a result of years of chronic dissatisfaction.
I agree. Women are ahead of the game here and us men need to catch up. We need to raise our standards and stop settling for "good enough". The contemporary man is taught that if the woman doesn't treat him right he needs to "win her over" and that's a losing battle. We need to walk.
I am finding myself in the strange state of being very good friends with a lot of married women because I became a pretty good sounding board. It's kinda funny because they feel they can tell me a lot of stuff, and I don't try to fix it for them which was my very bad trait. That's what men do, they try to fix any problem a woman mentions. Now all these unhappy housewifes think I'm mr perfect marriage material and are constantly trying to introduce me to their "perfect girl for you", and here's the irony...Say I do end up likeing PGFY, they suddenly get jealous of her! LOL
You are contributing to the crumbling of their marriage, because every minute they spend blabbering to you is time they should spend speaking to their husbands. Why are they talking to you instead of their hubbies? Because you don't have an opinion. They don't have to face the "other side of the story" when they talk to you, they get someone who will validate every selfish thought and emotion they have.
It's because in reality men are the ones who want to be married - so they can have an "instant slave" - a woman who cooks and cleans and takes care of him and the kids and the house and everything while they sit back and do nothing. Oh, and we damn well better look like supermodels while we're slaving away too! I always hear men b-itching about how it's the women who want to get married. BS!!! Oh, and I shave my legs!
