A lot of men who go out of their way to befriend women in prison are suckers and these women know it. They have nothing to do in prison than hone in on you and they can make themselves sound like the perfect woman to you. You'll start feeling sorry for them thinking they had no other choice and were hard done by, then it will be $20 you send, then more, then more. Then come the visits and you might just be smitten. You might even offer her a home when she's paroled. That's when your life becomes a nightmare.
A lot of good women who end up in prison have friends and family as a support system, they don't need a strangers benevolence.
Yep. And they are all "innocent" or "changed." They found God, etc. The women I would stand in line with to get in to see my ex-husband, they are even worse with the minimization and justification than their sweetheart is.
I have a story for you, this happened not too long ago here in FL. Female Correctional Officer gets involved with inmate who had been locked up for about 10 years. Before the relationship is discovered (in FL, CO's caught having sex with inmates, it is now a rape charge against the CO because the inmate is state property), she quits her job, she chooses him. She cannot visit him as a former CO. They did not talk on the phone. They write for 2 years until his release. She is there at the gate at 7AM when they release him. He goes home with her. 2 days later, he steals her vehicle and credit cards and racks them up for a week until they are maxxed out. She does not turn him in, she is in lovvveee with him and does not want to violate his parole where he would be sent back to prison. He returned maybe 10 days later to her. She forgives him, of course. He violates his own parole a month later on a drug charge and gets sent back to prison. Guess who is standing by his side again? The former correctional officer. There are tons of stupid women who have no idea what they are asking for when they start writing and involving themselves with men they do not know on the outside and worse, marrying them in prison without knowing a damn thing that they are getting into. It was seen all the time. Just nauseatingly beyond stupid. They have it in their demented minds that they are going to 'save' the guy and show him the right way. They romanticize it. In the end, the joke is on them.
