It's hard to look at oneself objectively. Maybe we have bad qualities that we don't think are bad, but everyone else does or we're not even aware until someone else points them out. But the worst is when they don't point it out and you only realize you have those bad qualities when you see them in someone else. Do you experience that, seeing someone else's bad qualities and suddenly realizing you have the same ones? I experienced this the other day when my friend who complains a lot started complaining about his life. I got fed up and told him to either change what he doesn't like or quit complaining. But then I realized I do the same thing. I'm just wondering how often others experience this and what bad qualities do you see in others that you suddenly realize you exhibit too.

Yes. It's called having children.

They seem to pick up some of our better, and worse qualities.

My daughter is picking up the wife's no-nonsense attitude. She shows no mercy to our 8 year old son. I feel sorry for him.

The qualities we usually most despise in others are usually the ones we despise most in ourselves...

A good point. Nothing worse than looking in a mirror some times.

To some extend, I think. I can't stand stubborn people, though, and I'm drawn to them at the same time! I wonder why...

Hmmm, why would you be drawn to stubborn people...hmmmm, let me get back to you on this one...

I am often referred to as stubborn but I like to call it "driven and focused"

Only that when I get together with somebody else "driven and focused," we lose focus altogether and drive the train off the tracks...
