Three top requirements of a date? Okay, here were my requirements from my dating life.

1) A real interest in getting to know me as a person. A good conversationalist is as much about me as she is about her. And vice versa.

2) A sense of humor. Lord knows, I dated several with none whatsoever.

3) A sense of adventure. By that, I don't mean burning up the sheets. I mean just willing to step out of one's comfort zone to try new things, meet new people, etc. After all, like is a banquet, and some poor SOBs are starving to death.

My worst dates (about 2 or 3) have been with CAPs (Catholic American Princesses). They all occurred in my early to mid 30s. We were similar in age (within 2 yrs.), education, civil status and, yes, even the "1-10 appearance scale." What was the deal? I sensed that they were frigid and they exuded sexual trauma. I think I notice this a lot because my situation is very much a 180...I didn't get enough attention and approval from my parents, though I am definitely NOT needy and, in fact, probably too independent. At any rate, I could never picture these ladies having great sex, or sex on a sand dune in the middle of Death Valley, or wanting to be soaped up in the shower, or anything like that...which is TOTALLY normal IMO.

Of this "molestee brigade," as I like to call it, some have never married and some are doing the plastic and regimented Stepford "all for appearances" thing, from what I can see.

The worst date I ever had was with a commie. I am a capitalist so it was a disaster waiting to happen.

He took me out for dinner and drinks, claimed he left his money at home- good thing I had cash with me. Then ( stupid me) when I went back to his apartment to get my money back he tried to have sex with me. Needless to say, i got my money back and got the heck out of there. Plus he was living with his mother....lame.

1. I expect him to be a gentleman eg. hold doors, be sociallyappropriate eg. not get drunk on a first date , don't make me pay for everything- going dutch is fine. turn off the cellphone!!
2. Good hygiene- clean teeth, clean smell, not strong overpowering cologne
3. Be interested in me , and be in the moment.

Ok, so when I was younger, like way younger, I dated a guy that was 8 years older than me, which at the time was a big deal because he could buy alcohol and I could not! Anyway, so he took me to Olive Garden, which I can't stand to begin with, and he ordered Minestrone soup. Not so bad, but when he ordered it he pronounced it MINE-STRONE like two seperate words and it was freaking hysterical!!! Even the waitress was cracking up!!! Plus, his name...not to out him here on the CD but his name is...DOLE!!!! Who freaking names their kid after a brand of canned fruit??? DOLE?!?
That was the last time that I saw him. I also went out with a guy who was married, but I did not know it and then he slipped up at dinner and mentioned his wife and he tried to go back and say that it was not his wife he meant that he was speaking hypothetically if he had a wife and yada yada yada... Anyhow, when I left the restaurant to see his fancy sports car that he told me he drove and I saw his Buick with a car seat in the back, that was the last time that I saw him!

Two months ago went out on a date with what seemed to be a "normal" guy. Halfway through dinner, he tells me how he was propositioned by a highpriced prostitute earlier that month. I thought he was kidding. By the time the entree came, he was offering me money for sex. I'm 47, so I still thought he was joking. He made it clear he wasn't joking and I was out of there before dessert! (And no, I don't look like Demi Moore or Angelina Jolie.)
