If it were me I'd go with Chapel Hill, NC. But I love the East Coast. I'd probable go with:

1) Chapel Hill (I'm assuming UNC!)
2) Boston
3) Austin
4) Providence

Raleigh/Durham which form the rest of the "research triangle" are great for those of us that are in our 20's and single. There are a lot of single, professionals in the area and it is really growing. Not to mention UNC and Duke, so some great sporting events (and some pro teams as well!).

Boston is always nice, it is lovely and fun and has the "old city" atmosphere as well.

I know Providence the least as I've only spent a few days there, but I found this one nice swing dancing "club" (I guess) to go there.

I like Austin, I've been there a few times and had a great time.

But I'd still go with UNC/Chapel Hill there is a lot to do in the area and it has a good climate as well. I'm actually looking at moving toward Raleigh in May. Either Raleigh or DC (which is also a great city with a fun night life).

Austin, TX

Boston, MA
Providence, RI

This is a little off the wayside but which city do you think has the best options for a single, open-minded black woman who is 21, single & ready to mingle? I have spent four years in a small college town in Texas & I am ready to venture out. Thanks for your input!
I am partial to Austin. I went there to live with my SO of several years but things ended soon after. However, I was never single in Austin for long. I bet you if I was still there I wouldn't be single now

I'll second that one ... even the not so hot looking ones were just great guys.

Actually I am looking for something long-term...I do enjoy the dating scene but at this point in my life, I'd like something a little more solid...I should have stated that in my original post. Thanks for the help again!
