I think as long as your child is taught that it is perfectly fine to be gay, your child will grow up thinking highly of him or herself.

A boy that likes pink or plays with dolls, is not necessarily a gay child. People seem so confused with the whole gay thing. There could be hetero boys that prefer somewhat feminine labeled toys and hetero girls that prefer somewhat masculine labeled toys. This doesn't make kids gay! It's not a black and white issue.

Children born gay may have a few more issues in the world, but the world is also becoming more educated about gay people and not so ignorant as a few years ago.

I lived a straight life for much of my life....but deep inside I knew I was gay.....much much later I worked it all thru and came out to myself and my family.....I wnt thru my adolescence after 50 and dated and was a bit crazy but I settled down and am now in a solid gay relationship and have never been happier in my life.....I Wish Somehow I could have been helped to accept who I was meant to be.....except along the way.....I had three sons....and I wouldnt change anything that would undo that.

If I were the parent in the OP I would definately make being gay acceptable...whether or not one of my kids were showing any inclinations. That would prepare them for life.....however it turned out for them or others.

LOL...real funny. The US is changing--albeit slowly--in reference to attitudes and education regarding gay people. With the older generations passing on, a new, educated generation will hopefully be there with a much-better suited view of gay people.
The younger generation (say, under 45-50) is much more open and educated in reference to what it means to be gay, than the older folks.
