I would be horrified if my 14 yo was messing around with an 11 yo. I would be murderous if my 11 yr was the one messed with. Would it be okay to prosecute him and regiater him as a sex offender if the girls were younger? How young would be justification for registration?
In the article it said they "made out"........ I don't think that is sex ...... is it?
Not that I am defending the person ....
Unless kissing is a sex act, I think they did more than that based on the following:
Quote:
The case, which originated in Plymouth County, involved a 14-year-old high school freshman football player who is accused of engaging in various sex acts from August to October 2007 with three girls. Two of them were 12 years old and one was 11.
“None of the complainants reported being afraid of the boy's behavior,’’ Chief Justice Margaret Marshall wrote for the majority. “Indeed, sexual behavior seemed to melt seamlessly into games of 'manhunt,' 'truth or dare,' and 'making out.' Some of it occurred with more than one complainant present.’’

Agreed. Registering and being labeled as a sex offender would be the least of his worries if the 11 year old girl was my daughter.

That is a good question...I don't know what age would acceptable to charge a child as a sex offender. If a 14 year old messed with my 11 year old I would be the prisoner, that's for sure
In what instances and at what age do they try children as adults?
It varies from state to state...and from prosecutor to prosecutor...
