But its difficult not to notice the holiday with all the hoopala going on around you. Dang advertsers.
The hoopla isn't all it's cracked up to be. Don't think that every couple is having and intimate candlelit dinner. The women aren't all getting diamond jewelry that day. It is hype. It's only an annoying Hallmark holiday to sell greeting cards, jewelry, candy and red roses. I think that many couples get stressed out from not living up to the holiday's hype.
All my guys have known not to give me cards, flowers, candy or even jewelry on Valentines Day. No tv commercial is going to make us buy that unneccessary crap. We love each other all 365 days in the year. We usually just have an extra nice dinner at no home sans candles.
Gawd those Jared's commercials are annoying. We're definitely never patronizing those jewelry stores... ever.
So never listen to advertisers and their commercials. It's a trick to make you spend money when you don't need to. The Valentines Day hype is akin to the beer advertisers trying to make you think that your life is dull unless you are making weekly trips to the bar to drink their product. Phooey on all of them!!!
