What do you envision?

LOL A post by Chowhound reminded me of this--I always wonder what people are thinking when they describe a woman as 'handsome'. Robust? Hairy? "Big boned"?

Mmm... I envision a manly and ugly woman. “Handsome” is just not a word to describe a woman. How would a (straight) guy like to be described as “pretty”…?!

LOL Me, I think of Patsy Cline b'c I've heard her described as 'handsome'. But I don't think she's unfeminine at all so I don't know what they really mean. I know it's not meant as a cut.
