Machiavellianism is far more common, the same as it always has been, or has decreased in some ways in regards to all forms of relationships and situations which one has interpersonal relating with another or others?

I think it has always been there, it's just more out in the open now. People take pride in it and call it "work ethic" or "determination" or "ambition". And the contrast between good and bad isn't as profound. We're so desensitized, people can't or refuse to see the obvious.
I worked at a telemarketing company years ago where it just nauseated me to see how the management manipulated the TMs just to get the numbers up, right down to sleeping with them. Whatever it took.
What do you mean by "hard", can you please explain it in "plain English"?
