Hi All,

I am new to this forum so be nice to me

I recently moved to Dallas, I am Single and struggling to find where people

hang out, how do people make connections. I am in my 30s, so not really

looking for anything crazy, just regular, fun, normal people to connect with.

Anyway, hope to make some new friends here.

Gerald

What are your social interests? I live in Dallas/Ft. Worth and have for most of my life. I don't know everything about the area, but I bet I can point you in a few directions.

I cannot speak from experience with Dalllas but I live in a place that is very similar. Both have a booming economy due to resources (although the bloom is off) and this has attracted a lot of single men for the good jobs. What you'll find is that:

Single male to female ratio for 30 to 35 is nearly 2:1, much higher than most of the country.

Women have high expectations and can afford to be very demanding.

Lots of competition from a large sector of wealthy families.

People who have been there for last 7 to 10 years have ridden the real estate boom, and now own a house they may not be able to afford to buy today, if they had no equity. This skews expectations and puts you at a disadvantage.

None of this means that you cannot be successful but there are many who won't be and people who know you from other places will then wonder why.
