I couldn't end up with someone who loves me more because ultimately I would treat them poorly because I would consider them weak. Sounds horrible, but I'm speaking from past experience.

I love my wife, but she easily loves me more. It's amazing to me how much love women can have. I actually feel humbled some times as men can be so selfish. For example, I was going to iron my shirts tonight and Mrs BP knew it. So after dinner, she started dishes and I layed on the couch (loooooooooooooong day at work). I got up to iron my shirts and she's 3/4 way done. So now I'm posting here and she's finishing up the ironing.

Simply put, I don't deserve her.

I am that person. He loves me passionately, I love him as a companion. I am content, he is not. Neither of us is leaving. He has serious health problems with which I cope (including med bills), but does serious remodelling work around the place (with a helper who does the physical stuff). We've been married for almost 23 years, and most has been good.

My grandmother told me that if I ever had a choice between marrying someone I love or marrying someone who loved me, pick the one who loved me. She said they'd take better care of me.

Bless you, BP, for appreciating what she does for you.

one thing I am worried is that if how happy I am largely depends on how much love he gives to me, then the relationship is too heavy and I don't know if i have the control over how much love he can give or how long the love will last

I would... I guess it's more secure. But I'd miss the passion.

As a girl, I've often heard that it's better to marry a man that loves you more.
