This works. I'm the wife and learned in marriage year 2 to stop volunteering the handy huge husband to help my aging parents.

I was asked each weekend by DH "what are we doing? What are our plans?" I felt like it was my job to entertain him each weekend because he'd ask me this 4 times a day each weekend, or mope around bored and doing that sighing thing. Well....I started coming up with things to do!

Now he makes plans of his own, and might I say....his chores are more fun than mom and pops!

Last weekend I just plainly said. "Nope."

So then she proceeds to say, "Good cause I want to go to my mother's house cause she has some yard work and stuff to do and she could use your help."

I'm like, "Uh Uh Uh...."

So this time she asked me today, "Do you have any plans this Saturday?"

I was about to say... and then it hit me....Loaded question. I'm not going to fall for that one again. I said, "Why? What do you have planned?"

"I asked you first." She says.

I was wondering if there are any other guys out there that have been hooked into visiting the inlaws because they were tricked??

Yeah my brother, he has to go see his mother-n-law or sister-n-law during the week or weekend because of his wife. She faked having to go the bathroom and couldn't go in public bathroom at my son's baseball game, so she could leave early and rush to see her mom. While my brother is a sad puppy following in her way. ~~~~~sheesh
