I think I'm somewhat attractive because I've been told I was by people, of both sexes, who aren't related to me. But, I haven't found anyone who is interested in a relationship with me.
What do you use to measure how you're viewed by the opposite sex?
Its been pointed out many times, both humourly and scornfully, that men are clueless about this. (Think of the cartoon of the overweight guy looking in the mirror and seeing Charles Atlas) However, men with good peripheral vision can usually get a clue, if they know what to look for.
I suggest a technological fix. Get men to go about with pinhole cameras to take pictures of women they glance at. Then post a selection of the shots with a picture of the guy doing the glancing. This should let men know how they rate. Here's what to expect on a male scale of 0 to 10:
0 - 1 She clenches fist and looks disgusted. You check her purse and hope it doesn't look particularly heavy - like she's armed.
2 -3 Lips curl as she snarls at your audacity for even glancing her way.
4 - 5 She looks relieved that you didn't approach but not totally disgusted. She's forced to deal with such men every day at work so she can't be too obvious.
6 - 7 Relaxed, but attempts to give off no vibes like she has any interest whatsoever.
8 - 9 Smiles and stares back, trying to get more attention. May follow you.
10 Looks flushed and tries to make herself very approachable. Looks for a mirror to check herself our or carefully slips out a compact for a peek. Usually too nervous to fullow unless she's a stalker.
Are you plus sized? A lot of gay men are judgmental towards overweight or bigger men.
I'm really attractive, women and men frequently check me out.
Basically you just know your hot by borrowing ideas from hot movie stars and models. You make it your own and then carry on with confidence.

3. By the number of people (both men and women) who make conversation with me in public. I know part of it is due to where I live where there are a lot of nice people.
4. By the number of compliments I get from people at the gym.
5. By how I look in the mirror when I get out of the shower.
Generally by the number of my husband's friends that tell him they're jealous. I get honked at quite a bit, but that says more about the honker than the honkee.
Also whether or not I can fluster a guy. Though that's a combination of looks and skill.
They cant help it. They like what they see and they see what they like.
