You know the type. Right? If something is ailing them, and they've been to 3Doctors, and they give them a clean bill of health, they'll insist on one more opinion, and yet another, and still not be reassured there's nothing wrong with them.
They wake up some morning, they see a mark on their skin somewhere, and they panic (maybe it had been there all along for years but never noticed it until today). Maybe I've got cancer! I better run to a Doctor and have this checked out. Have an MRI or Cat-scan!

Not a hypochondriac per se, but yes, I was married to somebody who would come up with one ailment or another in order to just spoil planned fun. Of course, that's only a symptom of a much deeper issue I'm not gonna get into.

I spent almost a year with one of those . I never understood why his relatives never paid attention to his "attacks", pain, etc until I spent several times at the hospital... for nothing! My gosh!
Once he told me he was allergic to acetylsalicylic acid. That same week we had a fight and later that day I recieved a call: "I'm going to die!! I took lots of aspirines!! And it's your fault". Of course it was false. Then I said "enough is enough" and I had the guy calling me, sending me e-mails and following me during months. Yep, I had to call the police
Can you blame me because now I have prejudice against hypocondriacs? LOL
