As far as some being on both match and CL? Hell yeah, I'm sure there are. When have I ever suggested that everyone on match was a gem?? Simply put, there are far less poisonous weeds to dig through than on CL. CL is well known for the quality (or lack thereof) of people that list there. Match....not so much. Trash blows everywhere. I prefer to stay out of the way when possible. It does make a difference, in my opinion.
Yes, trash is everywhere, whether it's paid or not or it's online or offline. I don't mind opinions. It's insulting people who do (or would do) something not much different than what you do on a regular basis and this kind of attitude "" that bugs me and you use this icon a lot.
Would you be interested in a Craigslist style date (but conversation only)?
Heck no! I would never start a platonic friendship based on a craigslist ad. That just seems too sketchy and dangerous a gamble. But then again, I've never been in a position of being completely without friends or compatible co-workers. I actually enjoy my moments alone.

That icon means that "I" don't want anything to do with it. Not sure how you are interpreting it. After all the publicity about CL, and the interviews of the people that list there, I see nothing insulting about my words. I view the two things as completely different. But again, that's just my opinion. You are entitled to yours, of course.
If a person ignores the widespread reports and publicity in the last few weeks, and still chooses to meet up with someone from CL for a spur-of-the-moment date (a "rush rush blind date that evening" as the OP put it), then yep. Absolutely.

And what exactly do you think will happen in a restaurant or a coffee shop you drive to in your own car? Man, I can't believe how every media paranoia nests so cozily in some people's heads! Aren't you gonna catch swine flu in the process, too?!

Ain't no telling what you would catch. That's ONE of my points. (Swine flu was a total hype of course.)
You gotta do what you gotta do. I am certain that my views are FAR more conservative than yours, as well as many others here. And I'm content with that.

I agree with that and respect it. Can you just answer my simple question above?

What question was that? You mean what could happen? Some of the characters that have been publicized would be up for trying most anything. I think it's unwise to even test it.
Here's the thing Sierra, I wouldn't do a last minute meet like that no matter what. The guy could be on CL, match, POF, eSong, or whatever. Any man that is that anxious and seemingly unwary, is a red flag. The fact that he was on CL, would just make the flag even bigger, for me.
